UK strategic trade controls lists
On 15 December 2020, the UK published the lists of items covered by strategic trade controls (available at: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/944003/UK_strategic_export_control_lists_20201215.pdf ).
Specifically, it is a consolidated list that includes the 7 lists in various pieces of international legislation establishing what types of goods are controlled.
By using the checker tool, such a consolidated version allows inter alia to establish:
- if your items are controlled
- the appropriate control entry reference in the consolidated list
- if an appropriate open general export licence (OGEL) exists
- If your items are listed under a control list (‘rating’) entry you need an export licence from Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU).[1]
